I took a spontaneous trip around south Utah, with the primary goal of reaching the Grand Canyon, in November 2022. On the way down to the Grand Canyon, I stopped by Zion. Really, mostly just drove through Zion. They are incredibly not dog friendly. There’s one path you can walk down, so I did that and got a photo of Kylo, but that’s about it. Driving out was cool though. I stayed in some random, somehow famous, motel in Kanab that night and drove out 45 minutes to reach a dark sky. The pictures really didn’t turn out, and it was sooo cold, but it was worth seeing.

After Zion was the trip to the Grand Canyon, and then I went in search of the famous Horse Shoe Bend. Kylo was making me nervous here because she really looks like she wants to jump into the water.

Along the way back up north, I saw a sign for something called “Coral Pink Sand Dunes” so I decided to go see what that was about. Kylo really enjoyed it, and the car was quite sandy afterwards. Check me out being a chicken sledding down the dune. It was surprisingly steep, kinda like dropping into the bowl on a skateboard for the first time.

There was one last stop before making the drive back to SLC. Bryce Canyon. It was all cute with the snow, but they also aren’t super dog friendly. They did have a nice walk path along the top of the canyon that allowed dogs. It was fun.
